I was tasked with creating three related animations about “moving (in) water.” Designing a clear, scientifically accurate, and at the same time aesthetically pleasing animation of a complex mechanical movement is no easy feat. The refined forms in the animation, with seemingly simple movements and clean color gradients, provide insight into the flow of water in a lock, a hydroelectric power plant, and a dam. The three animations form a cohesive whole and explain concepts on an interactive map. A consistent visual style not only creates a thematic connection but also enhances the overall aesthetic appeal.
